There are several good flicks. However one of my favorites has become the locally produced Kansas Nutcracker at the Lawrence Art Center which will begin in mid December. It's a mix of children, all ages, and some adults. All working hard to present a wonderful Kansas version of the Nutcracker.

"Grandma got run over by a reindeer". Really, they made an animated children's movie from the song.

I'm suprised that "It's a Wonderful Life" is not getting as much love here. #1 in my book. Everytime something goes wrong in my house I have to let lose with a Jimmy Stewart, "Ohh why'd we have to buy this drafty old house for anyway?"

There are several I would have to choose from and probably could not make up my mind, Certainly "It's a Wonderful Life", "MIracle on 34th Street", and "Meet me in St. Louis". But maybe a "sleeper" would be the early '50s version of DIckens' "A Christmas Carol" with Alastair SIm.If somehow you have missed this classic version, don't let another season pass without viewing it. It's by far the best adaptation.I also like "A Christmas Story" and it is definitely a classic. And speaking of which, I cannot help plugging the current production of this at Lawrence Community Theater. If you love the movie, you will also love this!
