How much of your produce do you buy from local growers?
Asked at Downtown Lawrence Farmer's Market on June 18, 2008
“Maybe half right now. We buy a lot of it at the Merc and some here. Of course it’s a lot easier to buy locally this time of year.”
“I’d say maybe 25 percent. I like to buy locally as much as possible, but I am a college student, so I have to make sure that I can afford to feed myself in general.”
“Maybe 10 percent throughout the year, but that increases as different types of produce come into season. I only live about a block away, so it’s really convenient.”
“I’m just visiting, but since I’ve been here it’s probably about 30 percent between the Merc and Farmer’s Market, which is much more than back home.”

depends on what is available - try to buy as much as I can afford - Mr. Ott and his apples was a must buy at the farmer's market, or his peaches.Corn, and whatever looks good.

When in season and available, probably 90% is local. There are certain things I wouldn't dream of buying non-locally, ever...like sweetcorn!

Wow! It's 11 a.m. and not a one post.I like to buy the local produce when it's available.I make a big pot of vegetable soup every week and use whatever I can get.My dogs love it. If it's at Wal-Mart, it must be local, right?

I don't think there is that much herb grown locally for sale.
