Do you think the state should raise the unrestricted driving age?

Asked at U.S. Post Office, 645 Vt. on January 23, 2008

“I would say no. I grew up in Overland Park, and everything there is so spread out that it really helped my family and I to have the freedom to drive wherever I wanted.”

“I think it maybe ought to be pushed to 17. I think a lot of drivers are responsible enough at that age, and a lot of families need their children to be able to drive around to make things work.”

“I think it's a bad idea. The more experience you have driving while you're young, the better the chances are that you will be a good driver as an adult.”

“I know if I was a teenager, I wouldn't be too happy about it. If there was research to prove that it would help reduce accidents, then I would support it. If they do raise the age, they should also have an age limit at which you are re-tested to retain your license.”
