“I think saying no to the coal plants was a step in the right direction, so I think focusing on wind energy would be a good start.”

Photo of Justin Martinez

“I would say having a clearer vision for the energy industry in Kansas, and finding a solution that will supply both jobs and sustainable energy.”

“Financing education. Something has to be done about teachers’ salaries and getting schools the money they need.”

“I think it’s energy conservation and development. I think they should do more to promote mass transit and alternative sources of energy.”

Is a Jahawk an agreeable German bird? Because that would be cool.

Crimson was my choice.

How much dove would a wood duck dove:?

Are you kidding? Everyone knows a wood duck would duck as much dove as a wood duck could duck if a wood duck could duck dove. Next you will want to know how many Hokies a Jahawk can whip - oh that's right! All of them!!!

Most important issue: "Hmmm...should I wear crimson or blue today?" (That game about gave me an apoplexy!)

How much dove would a wood duck dove...?

The buzz word around Alberta concerns health care legistation. The big question: will the legislature throw out the requirement of premium payments by Alberta residents? Those in the know believe that will be the number one election promise in the very near future. The premium payments are now $44/mnth.per person except for seniors who pay nothing. There are only 3 provinces in Canada that require residents to pay the premiums. Having an extra $44 per month in you pocket would buy a lot of votes.

The legislature should make Kansas competitive as an state for prospective workers and companies considering a move to our state.

Inact into law an employment nondiscrimination law that includes gay, transgender, and gender identity in the private sector. Likewise, nondiscrimination in housing, and public accomidations.

Marion (Marion Lynn) says: Taxes.

M.L. : I agree. In some cases they are much too low and too much has been exempted (by some accounts 90% or so.) Redo the mix and get more people paying their share.

What is "legislature"? And why does it have to be concerned? I think we need to allocate more resources.

Also, maybe some other stuff other people mentioned.

School finance and health care.

R_I - I am sure the doves can duck even those spinning blades - they always did when I tried to shoot one. :-)

We need to deny the renewal of the clean air permits for Lawrence and Jefferies plants this year.

R-I, they're all Reptoids. The legislature should tax hyperbole & innuendo. Certain natterings on local forums could wipe out the state's deficit.

0

bobberboy 6 years, 3 months ago

Nothing - they never accomplish anything anyway. Except spending our taxpayers money on trivial pursuits.

"What do you think is the most important issue facing the Kansas Legislature? "

This year we are going to have Gov. Katie out of the state stumping for Obama more than she'll be in Topeka and the legislature will act like a bunch of juvenile monkeys throwing poo at each other while not getting anything accomplished. I imagine the most important issue to them this year will be getting reelected.

...accepting KDHE's rejection of air quality permits for two coal-fired power plants in Holcomb, Kansas would be my guess.

Considering that majority of Kansan's support the decision, I would hope that those charged with enacting the will of the people would hear the calls for innovation in our energy infrastructure.

Healthcare, smart wind energy, bringing the green industry to Kansas, beef up education funding if anyone is serious about economic development and about 90% of state legislators resigning due to poor performance.
