“I’m reading ‘The New Avengers,’ by Brian Michael Bendis. It’s a Marvel graphic novel that’s kind of a new twist on an old-school comic.”

Tall, Dark & Dead,’ by Tate Hallaway. It’s a silly book really, about a witch who doesn’t want to be a witch who falls in love with a vampire and has to save him from the Vatican. It’s a lot of fun.”

Cien Años de Soledad,’ by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. It’s a very famous novel, probably the most famous written in Spanish. They’re supposed to be making a big Hollywood movie out of it.”

“I’m reading ‘The Secret,’ by Rhonda Byrne, as advertised on ‘Oprah.’ It’s all about the power of positive thinking. I’m currently putting it to the test.”

“Right now I’m reading ‘Moby Dick,’ by Herman Melville. It’s one of those books I read when I was younger that I probably didn’t get as much out of as I should have. I’m enjoying it a lot more this time around.”

"The Big Sea," one of Langston Hughes' autobiographies. It's for a class, but I am enjoying it and would have read it on my own time.

I just finished "Bleeding Kansas" by Sara Paretsky. It doesn't have the ending I would have wanted, but it's a good book. I had a hard time putting it down.

I am reading The Faith Club: A Muslim, A Christian, A Jew Three Women Search for Understanding. I want to be ready when those best-selling book authors will lead two free Lawrence events to guide the community through their vision and process for interfaith dialogue.
