Is prom that big a deal at your school?
Asked at Free State High School on April 22, 2008
“Yeah, I think it’s a big deal. I think our school has pretty good school spirit, and we really look forward to this time of year with prom coming up and the seniors graduating.”
“I think it’s a pretty big deal, just because it’s one of the last things we do together as seniors and one of the last times we get to see each other before we go our separate ways.”
“I don’t think it’s a big deal, but I know a lot of people who do. It’s pretty much just like a regular dance only everyone is more dressed up.”
“I would say that it’s a big deal if you’re a senior, because it’s our last dance. Otherwise, not so much.”
“Yes, because only the seniors can go. At a lot of other high schools, juniors and seniors can go, but here you only get one shot unless you’re asked by a senior.”
“I think it just depends on the person and their interest in stuff like that.”
“I would say it’s not as big of a deal as it is in smaller towns, but it’s a good opportunity for the seniors to be together one last time.”
“People make it a big deal, maybe bigger than it needs to be, but I want to go just for the experience.”

I wonder what "experience" Mr. Scott Olcott is referring to?
