Why do you volunteer your time at the Douglas County Fair?
Asked at the Douglas County Fair on August 01, 2007
“Because I believe that 4-H is a very worthwhile experience. I grew up as a 4-H'er and my mom was a 4-H'er too. So I want to carry on the tradition.”
— Karen Flanders, child care surveyor, Lawrence
“I was in for 4-H for as long as I could be and was always involved in the project, so I volunteered as a superintendent.”
— Craig Shultz, sales representative, Lawrence
“It's fun to help out in the community, and getting involved with 4-H is a great way to do that.”
— Jamie Morgison, Lawrence High School sophomore, Lawrence
“I used to be a 4-H'er, so now I'm just helping out as the woodworking superintendent.”
— John Vesecky, retired, Baldwin City
