Buying flowers and such.

Good morning everyone!

Richard Heckler 12 years ago

Walking and biking instead of driving so often...then working.

sgtwolverine 12 years ago

Good morning. Happy Monday.

I took advantage of the nice weather Saturday by getting my first sunburn of the year -- and knowing me, it definitely won't be the last. Michigan football had its open spring practice in the stadium, so I sat in the sun for a couple hours (after enjoying an iced mocha from Caribou Coffee).

I would like to know how Garrett played frisbee in a cartoon. Is that something computer consultants know how to do?

trinity 12 years ago

lol-sgt, it took me a bit but i finally got it! ;)

in response to the question-staying out of doors a whole lot more!

paladin 12 years ago

I really wanted to go and watch the Pope, but didn't feel up to driving that far. So, I took the TV out in the backyard and watched Him on that. Awe inspiring! Words cannot describe the majesty of it. Can anybody tell me why it seems like nobody pays any attention to Him?

cutny 12 years ago

Uh...yeah Paladin. Maybe because so much of what he says seems to exclude the majority at large and people are tired of being talked down to by those who find their way of life intolerable and unacceptable. Women in the church are still second-class citizens, and homosexuals are treated as if they have the plague. How's that for a start?

Chris Tackett 12 years ago

wow. Spring to Politics in only 7 moves! way to go, Paladin! (cutny, you're exactly right. i'm catholic, but over the past two years, i've pretty much had all i can stand. intolerance is unacceptable.)

re: the question, i read outside and did some shopping on mass.

omb - Galveston sounds wonderful. Today dawned bright and beautiful but yesterday morning when I hopped out of bed, threw up the sash, what did I see? Huge snow flakes, no kidding. It was coming down so hard and thick that I could not see across the river. But this am the tall city buildings over there are gleaming in the sunshine and I intend to get out in it and clean up the yard. Is this day a holiday down there? It is here.

Dancing under the full moon the other night was awesome as the breeze was so much cooler than Weds. afternoon! Baking a lamb cake for the 29th year (see for yourself at Sunrise service with long sleeves before the heat of the day...but forgetting that I used to LOVE using the words twitterpated and addlepated, now sated with pated, am watching the birds on the deck feeding on thistle and sunflower seeds since it is 59 degrees and cloudy...Kansas Spring...lovin' it.

paladin 12 years ago

I wonder if the Pope gets Himself twitterpated.

ms_canada 12 years ago

Standing on that balcony overlooking St. Peter's Square, seeing a huge crowd awaiting your every word with bated breath, he would have to be rather stoic not to be twitterpated. :o) I would think!!!

paladin 12 years ago

I wonder if the Pope ever thought about throwing frisbees off the balcony there, overlooking St. Peter's Square, to the masses. I would like to think so. Although, it would be hard for the little people to throw them back to Him. Perhaps, He wouldn't expect them to be thrown back. Probly not.

sgtwolverine 12 years ago

What would you call the sacrament of throwing frisbees?

jonas 12 years ago

I saw the pope walk around in a circle, tossing smoke about, when me and my wife were in Rome on our honeymoon last summer. It was inspiringly. . . silly.

They wouldn't let us take a picture, so I had to run halfway across the arena sized cathedral and use the zoom. You could barely tell it was him, except for that giant hat.

As for the question, the weekend was too hot for me, but today is perfect. I'll be working, but when your workplace is a small disabilities bus, it doesn't really matter. I'll try and pay attention to what I'm doing for the safety of the rest of you, though.

paladin 12 years ago

The rite of Frisbeeation. I wonder if the Pope would smile broadly whilst administering the Holy Frisbees or if He would countenance a stern demeanor.

sgtwolverine 12 years ago

I think popes tend toward stern demeanors more often. Demeanor debetter.

trinity 12 years ago

c'mon peeps, i'm having flashbacks only modernized; nuns whacking us unruly, ungodly Catholic schoolkids over the heads with frisbees instead of rulers! no wait, that'd be sacriligious; never mind. {shudder}

Fine form all around already, I see.

We did some minor yard puttering Friday and Saturday (got the tomatoes in and built a timed drip irrigation at the SO's house), then a short Sunday morning hike (<2 miles) before heading over to the SO's family's house for Easter brunch and fixing the SO's mom's computer.

Today, I have the day off and am sitting out on my porch with the laptop, drinking coffee and thinking about cleaning the apartment. Really, I'm just going to have some more coffee, I think.

paladin 12 years ago

Its the confessional for you! Don't you feel guilty about having such impure thoughts?

Linda Aikins 12 years ago

TOB, you had an "ing" weekend. Lots of verbs.

charliebear1977 12 years ago

Done gardening and yardwork on sat and bbq'd on sunday and hid and hunted eggs with the kids

sgtwolverine 12 years ago

No, I think they'll take away the nice weather if the downtown shops don't install sprinklers.

KsTwister 12 years ago

Did the old catch and release at Clinton, did ok but glad we did not keep them. As we headed home guy told me they have a pollution problem and that is why not as many Missouri tags at the Lake. Lots of Wind Surfers for sure, they looked cold. Next weekend,Lake of the Ozarks.

acg 12 years ago

Between cooking, dying, shopping, cleaning, little league, familial obligations and laundry I had no time at all this weekend to enjoy the weather, nice or not. We gotta do something about this 5 day work week, people. It's getting to be ridiculous. Coupling a more than full time job with a new baby and a six year old that wants to join everything I don't think I've slept in upwards of 7 months. I'm starting to develop an eye twitch. I'm kid you not....

And Jimmy Buffet is back. This time he's in Margaritaville, which is by far a more superior tune, but still not something I want to hear over and over again in my head. See, I'm cracking up!!

OldEnuf2BYurDad 12 years ago

I sneezed. That's what this weather brought to my weekend.

ms_canada 12 years ago

paladin - are you in Calgary, I ask as a curious Edmontonian.

Kontum1972 12 years ago

looked for the Pope in the pizza.... then went on safari for wabbits....on easter day

then remembered the easter offensive of 1972 QuangTri Province RVM....We were Soldiers once Young.

Bunga Lunga...!

ms_canada 12 years ago

acg - if you are planning on emptying your brain, you can send those Jimmy Buffett tunes over to my brain. I will pass them on again when I get tired of them but I warn you, that may be a long time off. And multid - I just wondered why he cited a U. of Calgary web site for the pope's hat. Paladin, that is. Edmonton and Calgary are somewhat bitter rivals in all things. :o) :o)

Linda Aikins 12 years ago

Vito wears pleather too.

I can't believe it! Our internet is blocking the red meat websites! Not fair!!!

bearded_gnome 12 years ago

you guys are too damned funny! oh, am I gonna get bumped for "damned?"

the mass of the frisbies, celebrated on the feast day of St. Milton Bradley?

should note here, last night on 6news TV, Jennifer Schack weather server noted, well, complained, nobody gave her chocolate for easter. well, nobody gave me any either and ya' didn't see me beefing about it! I gave Mrs. Gnome some, though, nice surprise from Au Marche.
doing to enjoy the weather! haha. over did it this weekend, cooking, going tot the "Miracle worker" so am sick today...yeah. great.
so, will either be better tomorrow or not. we'll see.
gnomedog likes this weather looking at all the new sprouting plants, he has to sniff all of them. we were given some beautiful white aromatic flowers this weekend too. guess that qualifies.
happy day all!

I've never been to Alberta, although I've been to Banff, although I find it hard to pronounce. Banff rocks!

paladin 12 years ago

On the subject of reincarnation and past lives and all that, I was MURDERED in a past life. And it HURT! Talk about your ultimate rejection. Some say I was a Pope, some say not.

paladin 12 years ago

I saw Leon Russell in concert with Edgar and Johnny Winter in Calgary or Edmonton, can't remember which. It was FAAAAABULOUS!

paladin 12 years ago

Then, the Pope came onstage and all hell broke loose.

Linda Aikins 12 years ago

I saw one of the Winter boys too (the one that did Frankenstein) but I wasn't quite all there. It too was fab.

"It just be rainin' Frisbees"

ms_canada 12 years ago

paladin - if you saw Leon Russell in Calgary or Edmonton and can't remember which and you have been rockin' in Banff, then you have been in Alberta as all three are in Alberta. You must have been really rockin' not to remember Alberta.

paladin 12 years ago

msc-I know. I've been all those places. I'm sorry.

EEgads! what's the world comin' to, Hannibal banned? no, say it ain't so, joe!

I suppose all of us are predeceased, so to speak...before we all get deleted by staff...and sent to that great deletion vat elsewhere.
oh, the OTS question: the attic fan, yeah!

killjoy 12 years ago

It's Hannibal's curse!

There have been a handful of poster who I actually look forward to their comments and Hannibal was at the top of the list.

bearded_gnome 12 years ago

yes, we should buy that device advertised on TV to improve that unknown person's impaired humor: "the ironic breeze!"
