Well, I guess I am but perhaps I should also be corrupting one of our fine older women. What say, ceallach?

0

bearded_gnome 8 years, 5 months ago

90 here...

Darn and double darn!

0

Ceallach 8 years, 5 months ago

Now gnome, you know those boots aren't made for walking :) and the whip was just in case the neighborhood perv opened the door tonight - (Lash LaRue was my hero!) Perv was a no-show!! Looks like I won't need the bail money after all, at least not tonight

ms_c, are you corrupting one of our fine young women?

0

sunflower_sue 8 years, 5 months ago

I went out tonight in platform boots...my feet are killing me. Never again! (No whips though. I knew I was forgetting something!)

Ms_C, Now that I know the truth about kilts, I'm gonna sleep well tonight. Very well, indeed!;)

0

bearded_gnome 8 years, 5 months ago

Ceallach, you going for halloween in stilletto boots/whip?

I have candy little girl!

0

Ceallach 8 years, 5 months ago

Hannibal: I'm not sure I've ever heard of the Roundabout monster of Seoul, but I found the Rodan monster of Japan movie very frustrating. I was eagerly awaiting the terror, but alas the dubbed voices were so funny that they kept it from being the slightest bit scary.

e_m: Please don't give the city any ideas about banning whips! ... nothing else will accessorizes stilletto boots half as well.

0

Hannibal_Lecter 8 years, 5 months ago

I rented a great movie, it's called, "Roundabout of Souls" I hope it's really scary.

0

ms_canada 8 years, 5 months ago

sunflower sue - ok, it's a deal, if I can make it down there by 7pm, I will let you dress me as Glenda. I will be interested to know just what I will look like when you get finished with me. I am sending you an email of some great pictures of what is really going on under the kilts that those hunky scotsmen where.

I take it bankboy had a bad link. Is it from the "you can read this" while I'm busy doing somesuch post?

0

BunE 8 years, 5 months ago

Your link was hardly promoting free speech. It was poorly writted editorial promoting theocracy under the guise of freedom. There is no citation, the only fact is the bill number and some text. Just because one of your talking heads decides to but his/her spin on a document does not mean it becomes fact. It becomes a sad commentary on the loss of good academic research, honest reporting, and effective opinion writing.

It does reveal a great deal about the writer and any who would readily read and promote this sort of belief. Feel free to default to your "what about free speech argument". You can take this sort of opinion and promote it, worship it, that's all fine. But don't become defensive when someone stands up to that sort of theocratic hooey and calls it what it is. I hate nothing about what you think, what you say or much of anything else. I don't however have to sit back and let you say it without answer.

0

bearded_gnome 8 years, 5 months ago

Bankboy, you're a gentleman, hat's off to you. I do hope you find the ref, as I generally agree with the intent of your original post on this, but you are honest enough to admit you are not finding the ref.

Staff04, my support for Alito's nomination more than "trust Bush" though I do generally.
first, the senator from Searchlight (NV) {leader of the Senate Democrats] is against him from the start; improvement over Hariett.
Second, he actually wrote that a husband being notified before his wife had an abortion was not blocked by constitutional law; by this, honoring legislative intent instead of making judges into legislators. the pro-aborts will make this out to be "anti-choice" as they call it...however, if the wife in this chooses to keep the child, husband is held responsible for child support, and it is only 'notification' not giving the husband a veto.

finally, Chuck Schumer is already out against this nominee, another very good s thing.

well, it is time to walk gnomedog. see y'all in a few hours.

Wonder if OTS did ask about Rosa Parks...would the Barista types/pseudoartist/mass street flotsom even know who she was?

"what should be done to honor the memory of Rosa Parks?" "from Johnny Jet, Barista: 'I think we should all save the videos of her TV show!'

'Buddy Bronze: Wow man, Rosa Parks, she was in the Olympics, right? so make a statue of her or something...find a woman for me...'"

seriously, I wonder if you asked on Mass how many would even know who she was and why she is so important.

Senator Sam spoke at the memorial service today, good job.

Sister-in-law dressed as a white tiger while BLOODY brother accompanied as Roy.

That felt good :)

0

bankboy119 8 years, 5 months ago

BunE how do court cases count as a farce? It has nothing to do with Fred Phelps either. God doesn't hate homosexuals. I and any other right minded Christian do not hate gays either. Just because we believe it is wrong doesn't mean we hate them.

And how is it anti-intellectual to promote free speech? If anything you're just promoting hate to stifle my opinions.

0

bankboy119 8 years, 5 months ago

OMB let me agree with you for the moment. I must not have heard right because I can't find anything either. So I'll take the beating now because I can't find the proof to back it up. I'm going to try and get ahold of the radio station though and get a copy of what was aired. I'll let you know when I do.

And formally, I do apologize for the statement about the guy getting the sentence with the cell phone because I'm not finding any credibility to the statement as of now.

0

neopolss 8 years, 5 months ago

Hey lonesome, how bout chilling it? As I remember, there WAS an officer beating a man to the ground on video. And isn't Halloween about poking fun?

Needless to say, I don't hero worship the boys in blue. It's a job that is applied for like anyone and its duties are simply part of the job, nothing more. Power must always be kept in check.

0

wlf2527 8 years, 5 months ago

i was out saturday night saw a guy dressed up as a used tampon. he one first place.

0

one_more_bob 8 years, 5 months ago

Okay, I'm calling "BS" on bankboy's cell phone hate crime story. I've not found any mention of it yet. If you can find a reliable source, I will acknowledge my error.

0

BunE 8 years, 5 months ago

You have got to be kidding me.

That was just a poorly written OPINION piece. This was a farce right? The anti-semitic remarks, the railing against homosexuals? Or is this some sort of Phred Phelps thingy?

If people want to continue down the gut feeling, anti-intellactual, primrose path I guess I can't stop you, but I can feel very sorry for you. The Rapture can't come soon enough for that sort of hatemongering.

0

bankboy119 8 years, 5 months ago

Okay I haven't been able to find the NH case that I was talking about but you can read this until I can

http://www.rense.com/general67/hatm.htm

0

one_more_bob 8 years, 5 months ago

I was googling for it & couldn't find anything that looked like the story you described. I'll take a look at snopes if I get a chance today.

0

bankboy119 8 years, 5 months ago

Yeah I'll try and find it OMB....need to remember to cite my sources...I got it from 92.3 when they were talking about different legislation and yes it is a Christian station. I'll try and find it in print though because otherwise it doesn't do any good.

0

one_more_bob 8 years, 5 months ago

"One specific example of blind justice, a man stole a cell phone in NH and was sentenced to 3 years in jail. When it came about that he used "hate speech" against a homosexual, which by the way homosexuality is a sin but that's a whole other topic, he had 26 years added to his sentence!" Could you give a source for this?

0

BunE 8 years, 5 months ago

Ouch.

Jesus is just all right with me

Jesus is just all right

0

BunE 8 years, 5 months ago

Um, it was a costume.

Maybe that 26 years will teach him to not be an A$$.

Keep your crazy jebus world to yourself. Working at a bank and charging interest is sin too.

Goots:

"...If I have to, I guess."

0

GreenEyedBlues 8 years, 5 months ago

I saw a guy on Mass Saturday that actually cut out the Mangino mask from the Jayplay and wore it around. He was a portly fellow so it worked well.

0

Gootsie 8 years, 5 months ago

Harley, I saw them in Topeka in around 1998 I think. At Gage Park. I have a picture with them, and have a Red Green bobble head at my desk. It's fun how many people know it. Yes, Ms. Canada, and you should be proud! I love those guys.

I'm a man But I can change.... (finish it)

0

thunderbuns 8 years, 5 months ago

bankboy: I used to work for another bank in America (no names mentioned) and I thought THEY were bad! Lordy! This current bank is straight from hell! Upper management here = wolves in sheep's clothing.

So you wised up and left them!!! Good for you!!! I'm tryin'!!! Just like most of my co-workers!!!!

0

sunflower_sue 8 years, 5 months ago

A friend of mine came to a party dressed as a tube of Preparation H and her hubby was dressed as a very large arse hanging out of a pair of giant boxer shorts. He had a red swim cap on his head...which was just sticking up out of the "buns". (He was a hemerrhoid!) Way too funny!

Ms_C, I've been doing more thinking on what I would dress you up as for Halloween and I've finally got it! You would be Glenda...the good witch of the North!

0

bankboy119 8 years, 5 months ago

Hey TB I used to work for them! Not there though.

0

Aiko 8 years, 5 months ago

That is funny Thunderbuns. I thought that was the place you were referring to.

0

bankboy119 8 years, 5 months ago

Thunder I'm going to have to guess US Bank....I think that's the only bank on Mass....maybe not though.

BunE...if you want to talk about blind justice just look at how the courts have been acting. Also, the hate crimes bill that is in the Senate, if passed, you may as well throw out the Constitution.

One specific example of blind justice, a man stole a cell phone in NH and was sentenced to 3 years in jail. When it came about that he used "hate speech" against a homosexual, which by the way homosexuality is a sin but that's a whole other topic, he had 26 years added to his sentence!

0

thunderbuns 8 years, 5 months ago

Aiko: I'd rather not say, or else the site staff might yank this post. But I'll give you a hint: It's in the U.S.

0

BunE 8 years, 5 months ago

My favorite is was "blind juctice" all bruised carrying a ripped up constitution and a sign that said: "Bush v. Gore"

0

ms_canada 8 years, 5 months ago

I hope you all realize that Red Green and Harold are Canadians. Great show that. If I was to dress up tonite, I could borrow my grandsons hockey uniform, (if I could stand the stink of it) and go as a Hurricane. His team is the Lethbridge Hurricanes. You could see a picture of him on their website. He is number 23 in the team profile section. Don't eat too much candy tonight, folks.

0

blue73harley 8 years, 5 months ago

Gootsie - We saw Red Green and Harold in Topeka a few years back. One of my prized possessions is an autographed roll of duct tape.

I just saw another funny costume. A friend of mine wore a white doctors smock and made a foil covered box for his head...a walking mammography machine. What made it funny was that he wore it to a costume party at a "gentlemen's club" in Topeka last weekend!

0

Aiko 8 years, 5 months ago

Thunderbuns, which "financial institution" on Mass? I am curious.....thnx

0

Aiko 8 years, 5 months ago

I will be there with foil on!

0

staff04 8 years, 5 months ago

Beatrice: I suppose you are entitled to feel that way if you want. winkwink

0

thunderbuns 8 years, 5 months ago

There was a former district manager at a financial institution on Mass street I work at that used to dress up as a human being everyday, when in fact she was satan's wife. Fortunately they "promoted" her out of that position, as corporate giants usually do. It's a sick instituition run by the devil !! Run for your lives!!!

0

l_eustacy 8 years, 5 months ago

free burritos at Chipotle tonight 5-10, but you must dress in foil as a burrito. (for the price of a roll of foil, you can feed the entire family)

0

juscin3 8 years, 5 months ago

lol, Gootsie, I try to watch it if I'm up and can remember that its on. He also had the skit of making a garbage disposal for his tools and junk. That was too funny. I also like when they read a letter that is supposed to be from a viewer and they sit and answer the question that was being asked. Its sad to see that this is their last season though. Kind of hard to imagine that they were quiet too.

Bearded, I too am glad that they are doing a memorial for Rosa Parks. She was a BIG part of America. Wish there were more like her. Maybe they should make a day for her. Like they did with Martin Luther King Jr. That way we will never forget. People that make a HUGE impact on US should be remembered for all generations.

staff04: "[Bush's] judgement has been sort of questionable lately." Lately?

0

avhjmlk 8 years, 5 months ago

I once saw a kid dressed as a plumber (blue uniform, etc), with a paper-mache toilet hanging from his shoulders. There was a string hanging from where the flusher should have been, and when he pulled it, the lid came up and all of his candy was inside.

GREAT!

0

staff04 8 years, 5 months ago

Just curious, but why the blind support for this new justice? Are you not at all interested in the confirmation process and the revelations that may come from it? I don't have enough information about this guy to know if I will support him or not. I certainly am not going to just line up because it is Bush's nominee though, because frankly, his judgement has been sort of questionable lately.

Rosa Parks was a remarkable woman. I went over and paid my respects last night. Very solemn.

0

Gootsie 8 years, 5 months ago

Juscin3, yes I do. I love that show and have met Red and Harold in Topeka. They were very quiet! I forget they're on Saturday evenings, but never miss Saturday morning. This is their last season, I've heard. boo hoo.

0

bearded_gnome 8 years, 5 months ago

answer the question: none.

new supreme court nominee [whom I support] and Rosa Parks is in state in the capital [a huge honor!]. and this is the OTS question we get? rrrr!

how about this OTS question for tomorrow: "how should america honor the memory of Rosa Parks?"

come on ye LJW, just one serious, relevant, OTS question...please!

God Bless your memory, good bye Rosa Parks, you were a special gift to America, and you deserve every honor for your courage!

0

juscin3 8 years, 5 months ago

Gootsie, I had a silly question, do you mean Red Green and Harold from the Red Green Show??? That show is FUNNY..this past Sat night I love the one part about the big ball of string! LOL

0

juscin3 8 years, 5 months ago

lol e_m ok, breeze, knew you were posting your opinion, but, just the way I read it looked like you were hateful and I can understand why someone would be..but people will post things in here joking wise and people tend to get offended so easily. And like I said, I do agree with some of the stuff that you said. I do have family that work with the emergency preparedness (sp?)during the tornado season and I know what he has to go through when there is a disaster. I personally have not experienced that. Maybe the person that posted what they said was coming from the things he heard from tv (we all know the news likes to exagerate), and he came up with that idea. Anywho, its great to see a person being sincere. :)

0

Gootsie 8 years, 5 months ago

ENOUGH!!!

I heard of one where these guys made a big breast out of paper, then hung it between them, and called it "Two Men Walking Abreast."

Another was The Clothesline. Two people strung rope between them and clothespinned socks and underwear on the ropes. Cute.

If I was dressing up, I'd want to be Red Green and Harold.

If anyone actually does a roundabout costume, you MUST post a picture.

0

lonesome_breeze 8 years, 5 months ago

And I was ...as you say just offerin my opinion. The post in question did not ruin my day. I don't think I was hateful, just sincere.l

0

even_money 8 years, 5 months ago

"Lonesome" Burt needs his whips. So City Commish, Don't

Ban whips.

0

lonesome_breeze 8 years, 5 months ago

That was not directed to you juscin3

0

lonesome_breeze 8 years, 5 months ago

I was making a valid point and offering my opinion. You made no sense and appear to the offspring of a horse and a donkey.

0

juscin3 8 years, 5 months ago

WOW!! I can't imagine being an esw in breeze's post. I do understand what they are goin through. I have family that was in Rita and they lost things as well. In MY OPINION, its only MY OPINION, maybe that post should have, could have, or even would have been less uh, hateful? Less Anger? People will post jokes, their view points, their OPINIONS, BUT, don't take it to heart. People have their own free speech and they will speak it. I just laugh it off, (some of them) and others, I tend to ignore, or even if it did get to me, I sure in the heck wouldn't let it ruin my day! I have more important things to worry about then someone getting under my skin like that. REMEMBER IT'S JUST MY OPINION, so put the whips away! lol

0

even_money 8 years, 5 months ago

Is that why they call you "lonesome?"

Let me introduce you to "Lonesome Cowboy Burt" sometime...

...freakin' atcha.

0

lonesome_breeze 8 years, 5 months ago

Hey Neofools.. why don't you dress up as one of the hundreds and hundreds of brave, courageous New Orleans Police Officers who worked 20 hour days even when they had probably lost every worldly possesion they owned during Katrina. You make an ignorant, flippant remark like that, you have no idea what those brave men and women went through down there. Try to focus on the large, large, majority of the good, brave Officers, Something tells me you have never even walked a foot in the shoes of an emergency services worker in the best of conditons, Much less what they went through down there.

0

Somebody I knew dressed as "quailman," from the cartoon "doug." He had it down pat, underwear on the outside, belt on the head, etc.

0

Happy Holloween all! Will the majority approve of the new selected "Scalito" for the U.S. Supreme Court? I am very curious to see how people will react this time around.

Not sure on the costume thing...let me think about that..hmmmm

Funny though. Nobody had to ask who I was???

0

Purell 8 years, 5 months ago

Queen Elizabeth - looked EXACTLTY like her, but it was a man.

I heard the Halloween is the favorite day for roundabouts. Any child who dares to get too close on Halloween is grabbed by the sinister satanic forces within the roundabout and offered as a living sacrifice to Satan. They have all the flesh ripped from their bodies and are sent screaming into the depths of Satan's empire. That is Satan's plan to take over the Earth. His followers will build hundreds of thousands of roundabouts that have hidden pentagrams. Each one will be blessed by his followers and sanctified with the blood of a human sacrifice. Then they all will become the direct portals to Hell.

How many will dress up as hurricanes this year?

I'm dressing as a corrupt New Orleans police officer.

I know someone who dressed up as Clayton Bigsby, the blind black white supremacist, off the Chappelle show. the costume didn't take a lot of creativity, but he was in character the whole time.

Maybe I should get odd DVDs and glue them all over me. I could go as a very WEIRD roundabout.

GEB, Scissorhands is an excellent starting point.

Not to mention Johnny Depp. G-r-r-r-r-r-r.

0

GreenEyedBlues 8 years, 5 months ago

I saw an Edward Scissorhands last year... it was pretty good. His hands were all wirey and covered with sharp objects and everything. My old roommate went as the star of the short-lived Spike! TV cartoon Striperella.

Yah. And it was Harry Caray who promoted Falstaff beer in those "New glass cans."

Costume idea?

From this this saturday night: Legendary Cubs broadcaster Harry Caray. The guy imitated him like Will Ferrell used to on Saturday Night Live. Very funny.
