Do you think roadside memorials are a distraction or a good reminder to slow down and buckle up?

Asked at Massachusetts Street on October 27, 2005

“Neither. They don't distract me or encourage me to slow down. I think they just help people remember their loved ones.”

“I think they do both. It reminds you to slow down and cherish your own life, but in doing so you take your eyes off the road.”

“I don't think they are either. I think they are meant to be a reminder to slow down, but people don't. They see them and just keep right on going.”

“I think if they are placed close to the road, it can be a distraction. Otherwise I think it is a good reminder, especially if there is more than one on a certain section of the highway.”
