OK, can someone out there be man (or woman) enough to tell me what on earth was in my earlier posting that got me axed? I'm absolutely stumped on this one!!!!!

Darth Vader: "If you're not with me, you're my enemy."

Obi-Wan Kenobi: "Only a Sith thinks in absolutes."

In other words, Red State/Blue State.

Jayhawk226 12 years, 11 months ago

If I die and never see a single one of the Star Wars movies... life may very well be complete.

jonas 12 years, 11 months ago

I'd probably switch sides every once in a while. Of course, once you set down on the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny. . . so I'd probably be more on. . . the gray side. Or maybe the dusk side.

And for the record, Beth, Nathan, and Steve, I find your lack of faith disturbing.

happyone 12 years, 11 months ago

from star wars to 50 foot owls man talk about getting off the subject..........but I can see GWB worshipping an owl "OH PLEASE MISTER OWL WHO HAS MORE BRAINS THAN ME TELL ME WHAT SHOULD I DO...." LOL

Suggest you do your research on Bohemian Grove and learn who goes there. A Google search or go to and watch a documentary video clip of Bohemian Grove and world leaders that attend there.

raven 12 years, 11 months ago

Sunflower, I can't remember either. No one has said anything today that I thought should be removed. Actually, no one has said anything for a while that I thought should be removed. Does anyone remember?

Fangorn 12 years, 11 months ago

ms_canada: I left a short note at the end of yesterday for you.

ladysilk 12 years, 11 months ago

I am a dark side kinda gal. The makeup and hair styles for the light side girls it a bit too strange for me. I did like the metal swim suit slave outfit though.

When I was in Olathe I started a program where we would go to grocery stores twice a week and pick up fruit, veggies, bread and other product that would have otherwise gone in the trash because of date. We then took the food to the church and gave it to families that needed food. It was a great program. We got some really good food from the stores and the families were so greatful.

HKP..That would be a far better emblem for the republican a matter of fact it would fit them to a T.

enochville 12 years, 11 months ago

How many agree with me that a group of Ewoks dancing at the end of Episode 6 is a rather weak conclusion to the saga when you see all the evil and havoc the Emperor Palpitine caused throughout?

The Lord of the Rings had a powerful and majestic conclusion. It showed real strength, hope, and goodness that triumphed over horrendous evil. I just wish Return of the Jedi had that same sort of power.

enochville 12 years, 11 months ago

jonas: lol!

Those who have read any of my previous posts would know that I'd choose the light side. One interesting note though, the gateway to the darkside is entered either through offense-taking and anger or ambition for power. I am rather slow to take offense and I don't covet the honors of mankind, but I wouldn't mind having greater influence in the world to bring about what I think would help people. So, maybe my desire for influence might unwittingly convert me to the dark side. I'd have to keep that in check like Luke was able to keep his anger in check.

sunflower_sue: I agree with you that as long as the food could be used quickly so that it is still safe, it should be given to those who need it. There must be some data somewhere that would tell us how long foods stored in different ways are still good after the expiration date. I think we all know that with most foods you still have a little while, especially for canned or boxed foods.

Fangorn 12 years, 11 months ago

You know, i_ching, your post is encouraging to me in an indirect sort of way. Since you can make a statement about "light" and "dark", it seems to imply, in this context, that maybe, just maybe you have the capacity also to think in terms of "right" and "wrong". Too many so-called "progressives" seem only to see in shades of gray and moral relativism. So I can appreciate your analogy, although I, of course, think you've got the labels reversed. ;)

Fangorn 12 years, 11 months ago

r_u & raven: If you've got some time (quite a bit of it, actually), I was finally able to reply late last evening. Sorry it took so long. I blame the grammatical errors and misspellings (for=four) on the late hour.

italianprincess 12 years, 11 months ago

Thats so wrong. You mention it and now you won't tell us.

So not fair!!!!!!!!!!

lunacydetector 12 years, 11 months ago

side of light=religious

side of darkness=godless secular culture of death promoting left wing socialists (the democratic party).

okay, enough of my response to itchy :)

....on another matter..... i am on the side of chuck soules requesting the neighborhoods who request traffic calming devices actually pay for them, instead of the City as a whole.

sanity detected....which gives me hope for this city.

Topside 12 years, 11 months ago

Great posts OMB I totally agree some schmuk would get lucky. Almost everybody would have to be on the light side or neutral since the dark side only get two members accoding to Mr. Lucas. That's a pretty exclusive club.

Liberty 12 years, 11 months ago

Neither. The light and dark side are forms of witchcraft. I choose the Lord's side.

Larry 12 years, 11 months ago

AIR Force- I'd love flying those jets!

junco_partner 12 years, 11 months ago

It would have to be the light side but only cause the chicks are hotter. Have you seen the females on the dark side??? I wouldn't stick them with my light sabre.

jonas 12 years, 11 months ago

Liberty: That's some funny stuff there! You should try lightening up.

. . . perhaps the people that wrote the book called witchcraft evil. . . perhaps because it would have taken away some of their spiritual influence. . . .

. . . just sayin. . .

acg 12 years, 11 months ago

Please guys, let's not turn this one little fun question into a political thing today. I just don't think I can handle it today. I think I would opt for the dark side. Only the good die young, right? Plus there's so many people wanting to be on the light side. There is no such thing as a utopian society. All you light-siders would need advesaries, so I'll be happy to volunteer. Plus the dark side's clothes are cooler.

happyone 12 years, 11 months ago

OK Liberty went there read that....Now sounds to me like Mr. Bush (I refuse to call him president because he wasn't truely elected!) is just taking part in a lesser known about Klan....and they say Democrats are bad, at least you know what they do because they have no discretion....but enjoy themselves

RushIsRight 12 years, 11 months ago

At this point, either side, then you could just walk up to people in line at the theatre and say "you don't want to see this want to go home and wash your socks". Then you could be first in line to see it tomorrow.

GreenEyedBlues 12 years, 11 months ago

I want to be an evil renegade Ewok with sharp fangs and daggers. I'm not sure how well Ewoks can wield The Force, but I'd do my best to be as Dark as possible. I'd love to be a little furry ankle biter... with a moustache!

enochville 12 years, 11 months ago

Hi, raven! Reading between the lines, my guess is that extreme_makeover is saying Liberty is Emily. I don't know, that is just a guess.

ms_canada 12 years, 11 months ago

fangorn - in order to keep the knickers of other posters from twisting, I'll leave you a note on yesterdays forum.

GreenEyedBlues 12 years, 11 months ago

That didn't seem like a very "happy go-lucky" post to me! How about a nice cup of tea? ;)

remember_username 12 years, 11 months ago

Niether light nor dark for me! I would be a droid so I could stroll through a hail of blaster fire without injury, survive with comfort in most environments (including space), provide comic relief in stressful situations, live for a really really long time, and mimic bird calls from 143 different planets.

Fangorn - thanks for the commentary, I'm digesting it.

Jay Bird 12 years, 11 months ago

I would have to say the Dark side....due to the fact that I am quick to attack anything that stands between me and what I'm after. Not always is it a bad thing, but none the less. Also, Jedi's can't have a wife and family. They are basicly monks. Sorry for spelling error, been a long night. I take too much pride in what I've done and have to claim the light side.

Liberty-I think the "lord" is the lighter side. Thanks for you attempt to twist this into something religous. Look at it this way.

Light = Wholesome, caring, good, Jesus-like

Dark = Worldly, Selfserving, miiddle-of-the-road, human-like

You serve your "lord", as everyone serves theirs. Wish you the best with that, and glad you have the right to do so. Hope you don't take your right to call everyone who is not serving your "lord" witches for granted though. Sounds kinda like your inner Vader speaking. Keep that in mind during the end days. I will feel safe with this, "I am terribly sorry, but the shields will be fully operational when your friends arrive".

I too also agree with the Dark side being in style. So chic.

May your "force" be with you.

Liberty 12 years, 11 months ago

Consider this, in the Wizard of Oz the good witch (light side) was Glenda. Of course everyone knows the wicked witch of the west (dark side). Notice that the apparel of SWAT teams are very much like Darth Vader. Also remember in Stars wars: Luke, go with your feelings... They worship the force. This appeals to the touchy feely types and is a form of witchcraft which has a light side and a dark side. (White majic and black majic)

The world leaders also worship military 'forces'. They also worship moloch (a 50 foot owl in Bohemian Grove in California where our leaders meet and make policy in a club atmosphere. The 'power of that which is created' is worshiped rather than the Creator Himself. God calls witchcraft a sin and an abomination. Just thought we should be aware of what it really is that we let our kids watch and learn.

I would choose the Light side of the force because they have the hot jedi men. The Sithe lords just don't do it for me.

All kidding aside though, I grew up on the original Star Wars movies and loved them. I really disliked Episodes 1 and 2. The acting and characters were cardboard, the writing wasn't very good, and some of the dialogue between anakin and Padame was downright annoying. I got the impression that in Star Wars world you cannot move your arms when you walk. Ugh. Bad Bad Bad

I saw a screening of Episode 3 last night and this film is awesome. From start to finish it is non stop action and adventure. The acting is really good, the characters actually have some depth (Skywalker is still whiney but I believe it runs in his family genes). The animation was 100 times better than what Lucas had to work with 7 or 8 years ago and was really pretty neat in Ep 3. Lucas still needs help with the romance dialogue though.

If you are a Star Wars fan, but maybe didn't like Ep 1 & 2 very much, 3 is a must see.

GreenEyedBlues 12 years, 11 months ago

HOORAY, Makeover! I hope they're sturdy so I can get some good practice in.

Liberty: I watched the Bohemian Grove Occult clip you recommended... AHAHAHAHAHAHAA Are you kiddin' me? Are you sure someone just didn't want to pay for tickets to a community theatre production?

remember_username 12 years, 11 months ago

Liberty - I took a look at the web site you recommended, and I listened to the radio program for a while and I really don't know what to say. I don't want to make light of your beliefs but this material looks like poor fiction what makes you think it is real? Are there many people who follow these beliefs and is this a serious movement within the US?

Liberty 12 years, 11 months ago

Remember, there is a great deal of information that will take you much longer to cover than you have allowed so far (It will take days or weeks to read and absorb). Watch a variety of free video clips that are 20 minutes or so for starters. Most of the information is documented with news reports and comes from them. If it is fiction, it is being reported by major news sources or eye witness accounts and is heavily documented.

Jonas, sorry about that. I just like to break people out of their comfort zone sometimes. :-) I'm sure it will return back to the light side soon. Got to go now. Have a nice rest of the day.

GreenEyedBlues 12 years, 11 months ago

In the spirit of the Dark side, I'd like to play devil's advocate here.

"It will take days or weeks to read and absorb"

Isn't that called conditioning? Put ANYTHING on the news and people believe it eventually.

Carmenilla 12 years, 11 months ago

Wow! Did everyone put acid in their coffee this morning? This has to be one of the strangest boards to date. And of course it was gonna turn into a political/philosophical/religious dabate! Thats what this is and that is what people do on here!!!! This stuff crack me up....

On that note, I just want Leia's slave girl outfit. Does that make me light or dark? I mean she's a good guy in the clutches of Jabba. He's bad but he picked out that slammin' outfit for her! Which way do I turn?

enochville 12 years, 11 months ago

(Please pardon the digression)

Liberty: I know you are no longer online, but maybe you'll read this later. I have been trying to think of how to say this. Remember the Pharisees in the New Testament. What were they like; why did Christ always condemn them? They went off the deep end in fanatacism. They strained at a gnat while swallowing a camel. They went above and beyond God's commandments and came up with their own which was not pleasing to God. They were so caught up in fault-finding that they were blind. They could not see the Son of God in front of them even though they were looking at him. That blindness came from looking beyond the mark. It was of these people Christ said, "Many will say unto me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then I will profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work inquity" (Matthew 7:22-23).

I think these conspiracy theory groups that claim President Reagan and other Presidents belong to some nature worshipping cult are dangerously close to being modern day Pharisees. I could say more, but I am attempting not to offend.

GreenEyedBlues 12 years, 11 months ago

I still wanna be an Ewok. Maybe I could fashion a little tree house out in the park near my apartment complex. Does anyone have the crafty know-how? I'd love your help. =)

italianprincess 12 years, 11 months ago

They were talking about the whole red/blue state thing this morning on the news.

Its just a movie to me and without knowing this I would have not thought about it while watching it either.

Since my son who is seven and has found Star Wars we will both be heading the theater this weekend to a matinee. I have read the views about how dark the movie is compared to the previous movies, but have also explained to him that its just a movie.

Hes looking forward to it and I'm hoping he can handle the length of it also. A 2 hour and 45 minute movie is long, but I think he should be okay.

By the way, I'm always for the good side of things and he laughs everytime I say.......I have the power of the mom.

Hong_Kong_Phooey 12 years, 11 months ago

Oh...did I offend some hippy with the announcement about the Democratic party changing their symbol? Perhaps 'littleredleo'??

By the way - you are a fool. PRESIDENT Bush IS President and your ridiculous refusal to call him that shows that you are a poor loser and have no respect for either the Office of the President or the system by which we elect officials in this Republic.

enochville 12 years, 11 months ago

It appears to be a quote from a movie that one_more_bob knows.

ms_canada 12 years, 11 months ago

enochville - you are so right. What would a story be like if there wasn't conflict and I guess, as you said, the most basic conflict is that of good/bad. And in our own personal lives when we must make a decision of importance to our future, it is a conflict between right choice or wrong choice, not necessarily bad choice. And why the heck is the chosing always so darned difficult. I don't remember the Chevy/emily bit but would guess that she is a ditsy babe.

sunflower_sue 12 years, 11 months ago

The only thing offensive that I said was that LJW didn't post an interesting question...but people say that every other day. Hurry and read before I get zapped again!!!! Maybe I'll be permanently banned. If so, have a good life and enjoy every day. I love you man (and woman)! (Sob, sob)

ms_canada 12 years, 11 months ago

Hey guys - I am back after 16 days and I really don't want to see the inside of my car for a while. good to be home again. Love that LJWorld. Always trying to keep currant. I am not that familiar with the Star Wars stuff. Did watch the first two movies but have forgotten most of it. But on the subject of light/dark, good/evil themes, here is something to think about. We older posters will probably all remember the "fairy tales" that we listened to at our mothers knee. Maybe some of you youngsters will know of them too. I speak of the likes of "Hansel and Gretal" Snow White/7 dwarfs, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel to name just a few. Remember that there was always an evil/bad element in all of the stories of our youth. Now think of Harry Potter and LOTR trilogy. Why do I bring this up, you may ask.
We have been conditioned to see two sides to every human happening throughout history. Think of the western films, cowboys and indians, good guys and bad guys. The to and fro of relationships. It is always the same. Face it, we have been conditioned from childhood. Now think of the reality of human history. Always the same; a greater power conquering a lesser one. The Babylonians>the Persians>the Greeks>the Romans>the Etruscans. The Britons>the Romans>the Anglo-Saxons The British versus the French. The Europeans/native n. americans. Conqueror after conqueror. Ask yourself, keeping mind the greater picture of history, which is the conquering nation now in our time? More than one?? Back in days of my childhood, the stories were so simple and now still on the same theme, they have just gotten more elaborate and visual.
Anybody got any theory as to the reason that some much fictional literature is based on the theme of good versus bad or evil? Liberty - I looked at the website you listed. Scary stuff. I read the stuff about the owner of the site too. He seems to get around on the media networks.

enochville 12 years, 11 months ago

ms_canada: In order to make a good story, you need opposition. If there is no conflict of any kind, even internal psychological conflict or challenges in a journey, you have no story. You have some zen state of meditation, but no story.

Good vs. evil is the most basic of conflicts, but not all stories use that theme. If you want a list of stories that don't feature good vs. evil, I am sure I could create one for you. Futhermore, I think we are psychologically wired to think in terms of good and bad. "Anything that helps you is good, anything that hurts you is bad" is the thinking of our core brain. As we mature we grow out of that simplistic thinking.

Fangorn 12 years, 11 months ago

ms_canada: welcome back! I'm glad to see your travels ended safely. How was your sister?

GreenEyedBlues: I've got the necessary tools and some small skill. Whenever you're ready to build that tree house, just let me know. You just have to promise not to sing and dance like an Ewok. You can sing and dance if you want, just not like those little furballs. I agree with enochville that this was an incredibly lame ending for an epic story like Star Wars.

r_u: I salute your attention span if you read through all of it! I hope the indigestion isn't too acute. ;)

littleredleo: President Bush was elected twice, Constitutionally both times. Additionally in 2004 he won the Electoral College AND the popular vote, the latter by 3.5 million votes. So how, exactly, was he not elected? I survived eight years of having Slick Willie as my commander-in-chief. You'll probably make it to 2009, too. The Michael Moore wing of the political spectrum desperately needs to move on, but it seems they'd much rather

GreenEyedBlues 12 years, 11 months ago

Thanks for your help Fangorn! I wasn't too fond of the song and dance number either.

I am, however, a sucker for fuzzy faces and beady little eyes. In reference to my Disney fanaticism, my friends tell me I'm a sucker for all that is cute and/or fluffy.

Ewoks have those buck teeth! I think being on the Dark side should entitle them to fang-like caps. Can you imagine a sabertoothed Ewok? YES!

raven 12 years, 11 months ago

Yeah I saw that too. Just not a movie I am familiar with

raven 12 years, 11 months ago

Yeah the migraines. I didn't know it was from SNL thanks for letting us know.

enochville 12 years, 11 months ago

Sometimes we face a decision between a right choice and a wrong choice, but more often it is between two good things (or a mixed bag of pros and cons). We are faced with different competing pathways to reach our needs for safety, understanding, fulfillment, importance, community, independence, feeling cherished, etc. I think that coupled with our uncertainty of the effects of our choices makes the decisions so difficult.

Fangorn 12 years, 11 months ago

Oops! Didn't expect that to post as a link. Now I feel like I've dangled a syringe in front of a recovering addict!

ms_canada 12 years, 11 months ago

extreme_makeover - I don't think you said anything to hurt my feelings. If you are referring to my wee note to fangorn, some posters get their knickers in a twist when others change subject or post personal stuff as ceallach, fangorn and I do occasionally. I found your post amusing, to say the least.

ms_canada 12 years, 11 months ago

not such a happy go lucky post above. I think someone ought to push the s. r. button on that post. Liberty - just ignore him. He is nasty. He is just trying to get a rise out of you.

Ceallach 12 years, 11 months ago

ms_canada: Welcome home and back. I have missed your kinder, gentler posts :) They have helped me on more than one occasion.

Born to the dark side, saw the light, changed directions, followed the light, reborn to the light side. Let the sun shine, let the sunshine in, the Son shine in (my apologies to those who may offended becaue they still worship "Hair").

sunflower_sue 12 years, 11 months ago

ms canada, maybe that's what got somebody's "knickers in a wad"and zapped me earlier. I tried to change the subject. Shame on me!!! I guess I should have stuck to the important topic at hand.

OK, If I must discuss "Star Wars" was the first movie I ever saw at a theatre. Back then it was the first and only. Now I guess it's "episode 4"? Gotta go with the good side. Harrison Ford was so yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ms_canada 12 years, 11 months ago

sunflower - this suggest removal thing is quite weird. You said nothing wrong and the subject gets changed all the time. It is a mystery how this removal thing works. Once there was what I thought was really offensive post and I suggested removal and it is still there to this day. H. Ford is indeed yummy. But I really gotta go with Viggo Mortensen. He is thoroughly dishy. Especially loved him in Hidalgo. How's that for changing the subject. Think I'll be removed?

Jay Bird 12 years, 11 months ago

Liberty-Jesus Jumping Christ on a Pogo Stick. I have some land to sell ya if you believe that crap. Being Gay in a sin in the eyes of the God, but we vote on letting them marry.(attempt to start more fighting an the board, dark side in me I guess) If all this is SO bad then maybe you should cancel your internet, Satan is stealing your soul for reading this. SWAT wears the gear they wear for a reason, Black to hide, face mask for protection. I don't think Darth Vader was the poster child for that. If your so hung up on what the military believes, go to Basic, God Corp Country. It gets drilled in your head over and over again. Sang Happy Birthday to J.C. on the big T on christmas myself. Gunny rammed Father, Son and the Spook down our throats all day long. Thanks again for bringing the carpenter in to the picture. As far as news reporters go...... Dewey Still didn't win. What about Dan Rather, didn't he flup up too. Keep in mind the land offer, might even throw in a bridge or two.

Carmenilla-Any woman who wants that outfit, I'm all for it. Some day I hope to see a fine honey in one.

Sunny Sue-I love you too. Hope you have a great day also.

Jay Bird 12 years, 11 months ago

Ms Canada-more sarcastic than anything, why remove it, Libby there starterd it my bringing in the woodworker, then stepped it up by bringing in the military. Why does it need to be removed? Did I swear? Nope. I just don't believe in the same god as her. We, her and I, have that right. Are you a Nazi(sarcastic remark too) wanting to censor everyone who says something you don't like. I don't think your an nazi, just no one has brought THAT up yet. I hope your day goes well and I still think your a good person, even though I'm nasty.

Green-can't drink tea, makes me sick. Hot cocco cool.

ms_canada 12 years, 11 months ago

happygolucky - you say you don't believe in the same god - logic would tell me that, therefore, you do believe in a god, a different god. Let me ask you, if someone said something really nasty about the god that you believe in - how would you feel? I love my God and I feel slighted when He is insulted. I feel hurt. I feel really bad when His Spirit is called a Spook. Can you understand that?

Jay Bird 12 years, 11 months ago

MsCanada-No real beliefs here, well maybe money and bill gates. I don't drag my beliefs up and rub them in everyones face. Use god, jesus, and the like to say how everyone else is a witch. I do however get steamed when it's done to me. I don't need you , libby, or anyone else telling me what to believe, and how to live. She brought god into a fun discussion about a movie based on make-believe. There are no Jedi's, all powerful force, or a Dark Sith Lord who will choke you across the room for calling him out. Do you believe in Allah, or any others faiths god? I don't believe in theirs or yours. God is an made up friend for grown ups. You drag his little robe and slippers over to the house and I'll rethink that. Show pictures of you two hanging out, maybe, but until then, They are as good as Santa and the Easter Bunny. Sorry your feelings got hurt, but this is no place to drag them in. The question wasn't do you warship heaven or hell. Say something nasty about me, or whatever. It's your right and I haven't said anything about it. Get off the cross, the poor could use the wood. This county as a whole needs to stop hugging trees and get real. Feelings get hurt, happens to me all the time, but I don't whine and drag a made up god into this. And until you can prove it, it is made up. Have a great night and let the dead horse lie.

Peace out

Jay Bird 12 years, 11 months ago

Fan-bible scripts? If I don't lay faith in that god, why would I believe a book? I don't believe in little red riding hood, the three bears, or peter pan. Do follow the Koran or the boy scout handbook either. You can put your faith in that, it's on you. I feel when you die, that concludes your broadcast day, light out. I don't throw it in your face, tell you that's the end all say all to life, so what gives you , Ms Canada, Liberty, or any one else the right to do that to me or anyone else. Are you going to confert the jews next? I have books. Do you believe 1 egg, 1 cup milk, and bread? French toast ain't saving the world, the bible may be right for some but not all. Everyone was up in arms about repressing Gay marrage, but all the bible thumpers in here seem to want to repress me because I'm not in your cult. All religions all a form of kult. One doesn't believe in the other and all seem to think they are right and their god says so. I'm not preaching porn here. I have the right to not believe in the same thngs as everyone else. You throw those scripts out like it will make me believe. Why? Did I say i want to come to jesus? If I did, I'm sorry. Separation of church and state. One last time, this was supposed to be a fun question and people made it nasty by thumping the bibles. Do you believe XXX is going to save the president? Share any jeans with some friends, got a guide to outer space? It's a movie folks. Not a freaking way of life. This isn't the sunday school hand out and not everyone life revolves around some old dude, a carpenter, and the polterguist. If that hurts your feelings, then think about it when you throw you crap up in my face. I didn't ask you for it. You opened yourself up for it when you brought in into the discussion. Now bugger off, I'm tired.
