Should the city create a citizen review board for the police department?
Asked at Massachusetts Street on August 25, 2005
“That's probably a pretty good idea. I don't think it hurts to have a third party review, but I wouldn't have any complaints against the Lawrence Police. I think they do a pretty good job.”
— Jennifer Sherman, advocate/artist, Lawrence
“Why not? It would give the public a voice about matters they think should be focused on.”
— Brant Cobb, bookstore clerk, Lawrence
“Yes. That sounds great. Let the people get involved.”
— Chris Rector, computer science engineer, Lawrence
“It sounds like a good idea because it will be less intimidating to people. It's hard to complain about the police to the police. It's nice to have an intermediary.”
— Alex Knapp, lawyer, Lenexa
