Should public schools be allowed to solicit private funds?
Asked at South Park on May 30, 2004
“I think they should be able to if they can find a way for it to be split among the schools rather than all going into one school.”
— Tina Costner, secretary, Lawrence
“I don't think so because then some schools would get a lot of money but some wouldn't get as much.”
— Morgan Goodin, Lawrence High School junior, Lawrence
“That's fair. They have a right to raise money like private schools do.”
— Kandice Hall, Free State High School junior, Lawrence
“It would've been better if (Judge Terry) Bullock's order had stayed so the Legislature would have to think about something other than gay marriage. But this is Kansas, so that's not going to happen.”
