“Roy Williams. He was so great at winning for so many years. I think he is probably the most successful coach they’ve ever had.”

“Roy Williams. He was a good coach and worked the best with all of the students he coached.”

“I would have to say Phog Allen. He started the history of a great basketball team at KU. He started the tradition; the other coaches just followed it.”

“Naismith. He knew the game better than anybody because he invented it.”

Naismith?? Is Mike Holtz SERIOUS?! Naismith is the only coach that has a losing record at Kansas!

Roy Williams? Yeah, he was definitely one of the best, but he never let his players shine. Take Paul Pierce for example. I was at Paul's first game as a Jayhawk. He got a breakaway pass, ran down court and performed a 360 slam. What does Roy do?? He benches him. Paul goes to the NBA and he's allowed to grow and he almost wins MVP. If he had let his players shine, he probably wouldn't have left here missing a National Championship.

My money is on either Phog Allen or Larry Brown. They at least got the job done. You can have all the winning seasons in the world, but if you don't win the Championship, you are forgotten. Look at the sport of football. John Elway - one of the greatest QB's ever and his place wasn't solidified until he won the Super Bowl.

Bill Self. He's here. He's on the job, and we're winning. All you have to do is watch those guys play!

History, schmistory.

Phog Allen perhaps...and didn't he break the color barrier for the University of Kansas and Lawrence residents?

Pay heed to all who enter...beware the Phog!

Larry Brown is the greatest coach we've ever had.

Ruck Foy!

Roy Williams was a chump. I could take any team of eight graders and beat him in the final four any day. He always played the same game.

Bill Self is a pretender. Doesn't have a clue. Naismith and Phog were chumps too.

I wouldn't pay a nickle to see the Jay Hawks. Bunch of loud mouths. That BIRD says it all - a big fat mouth.

Considering that Allen is often called "the father of coaching basketball" I think this question is a no-brainer
