Do you think putting the smoking ban up for a public vote is a good way to handle the issue?
Asked at Massachusetts Street on April 22, 2004
“Yes, I do. It’s better than having a select few vote for an entire city on something that people just stand around and do.”
“Yes, because it would give people who actually go to bars a vote. People who go out to bars three or four times a week will be most affected.”
“It is because it’s letting the people decide. But if they handle it the same way they handled the closing of the schools last year, it won’t matter.”
“Yeah. It provides a venue for discussion of the issue, bringing out all the opinions in a reasonable manner and letting people make an educated choice.”
