Dorothy Jean Moore

Died 10/24/2017 in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Dorothy Jean Mitchell was born in Maywood, Missouri to Milo and LouElla Mitchell in 1932. When she was a young girl her family moved to Quincy, Illinois. After graduating from Quincy Senior High School, Dorothy attended The University of Kansas, where she was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority. There, she met the love of her life, Allen Leroy Moore, whom she married in 1955.
She and Allen resided in Lawrence, where they raised their three children. Both Dorothy and Al were very family­oriented people who loved to entertain, two qualities they instilled in both their children and grandchildren. In 1983 they moved to Scottsdale, Arizona.
Dorothy is best remembered for her playful wit and compassionate spirit. Her graceful demeanor and effortless elegance will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
Dorothy is preceded by her husband Allen and son J. Mitchell and survived by her daughter Brett, son Monte and grandchildren Nathan & Bailee, all residing in Scottsdale, AZ and her sisters Betty Lee Born residing in Lawrence, Kansas, Carlene Mae Klarner residing in Rock Island, Illinois and Rosa Lee Foster residing in Quincy, Illinois.
