Many words can describe Seth Nation. Loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. Gifted author, coach and athlete. But above all, a person who was sought after for his compassion and vivacity by all.
Seth Nation was born in Corona, California but was best known in his youth in Redlands, California. There he was a varsity football player for the Redlands Terriers, graduating in 1992. Following graduation he moved to Albuquerque, NM where he was fortunate enough to meet his lovely wife, Lori Nation (ne?e Pruitt), they were married on December 30th, 1995. Together they were the parents of 4 beautiful children.
Seth spent most of his adult life in Lawrence, KS where he Worked at Phenix Label as a Customer Service Manager. He coached Lawrence Youth Football and USSSA Baseball for the Lawrence Colts and Lawrence Warhawks. He was a member of the Eagle Lodge #309 and he was a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
Seth was an accomplished author. Authoring a book of poetry titled The Roads We’ve Traveled. As well as a hit series of western novels; The Devil’s Brand, Dead Man’s River and Pecos Justice which are still in print.
He is survived by his wife Lori Nation, daughter Tori Hawk and future Son­in­law, Colton Wiley of Lawrence, KS. Son Jacob Nation and daughters Taylor and Megan Nation of Lawrence, KS. He is also survived by his parents Bobby and Patti Nation of Sayre, OK and parents Redina and Mario Perez of Redlands, CA. His brother Caleb Nation, sister­in­law Maria Nation and their children Graciela and Duke Nation of Kailua, HI. His sister and brother­in­law Brittany and Alan Murphy of San Diego, CA. His grandparents, Edsel and Orvalene Nation of Sayre, OK. His parents­in­law Michael and Victoria Smith of Lawrence, KS. Sister­in­law and brother­ in­law Meri and Lati Hill of Green Bay, WI. Sister­ in­law and brother­in­law Toni and Trenton Rabbit, and their children Aubrianna and Tristan of Lawrence, KS. As well as his brothers­in­law Billy and Matt Smith, and niece Kannaleigh of Lawrence, KS. Seth is also survived by his many friends throughout the country.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 20th, 2017 from 10:00­-12:00 at Rumsey­-Yost Funeral Home in Lawrence, KS. To be followed by a Celebration of life at the Eagle Lodge #309 in Lawrence, Ks.
