Dona Lee Wilson

Services for Dona Lee Wilson, 84, Lawrence, Kansas, will be Saturday, September 24, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Rumsey­Yost Funeral Home. Inurnment for Dick and Dona Wilson will take place at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Atchison, KS around 3:15 pm that afternoon.
Dona went to be with the Lord Friday, Sept. 16, 2016 at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community, surrounded by her children. She was born Dec. 24, 1931, in Atchison, KS, the daughter of Donald H. Brown & Leah Hildred (Barr) Brown. She graduated from Atchison High School and attended vocational school for secretarial training.
Dona worked as a lifeguard, swim instructor, secretary, interior decorator for family business, floral designer and manager for West Ridge Floral, Sales/Manager for Michael’s Furniture and her most beloved endeavor as Homemaker. She was a member of the Mustard Seed Church.
She married Richard Troy “Dick” Wilson II on Feb. 24, 1951, in Fall City, NE.
Survivors include three sons, Terry (Barb), Mark and Tim (Carla), Lawrence; daughter Michele Cowger (late husband, Rocky), Louisburg; seven grandchildren; ten great grandsons; nephews, nieces and many friends.
She is preceded in death by a son, Richard Troy Wilson III, on March 27, 1954; husband, Richard Troy “Dick” Wilson II, on Feb. 16, 2002; and brother, Michael Leon Brown, on March 28, 2015.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Mustard Seed Church, in care of Rumsey­Yost Funeral Home, 601 Indiana St., Lawrence, KS 66044
