Nancy Jean Jones

Nancy Jean Jones was promoted to her heavenly home on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 in Lawrence, Kansas at the age of 89 following a brief battle with pneumonia.
She was born May 9, 1924 in Lawrence, the daughter of James and Cynthia Johnson. She was a graduate of Lawrence High School.
Nancy worked for the Lawrence Journal World in the Commercial Printing Department for many years, and later worked for Lawrence Printing Service.
She was a member of Clinton Parkway Assembly of God (360° Church) for more than 70 years. For over 40 years, she was involved in the Children’s Ministries of both Clinton Parkway A/G and Faith Chapel A/G in Overland Park, Kansas, where her son pastored.
She has been a resident of Lawrence all of her life, except for three years spent in California.
Nancy married Don Jones on September 8, 1946 in Lawrence. Her husband preceded her in death in 2008. She is survived by daughter Lurlyne Smith and husband Don, of Kansas City, Missouri; a son, Melvin Jones and wife Peggy, of Stilwell, Kansas; a sister, Rachel Keller, of Grants Pass, Oregon; five granddaughters; nine great-grandsons, and two great-granddaughters.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Friday, January 10 at 360° Church in Lawrence, KS. Funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 11 at the church. Burial in Lawrence Memorial Park. Arrangements by Meyers Northland Chapel, Parkville, MO.
