Rose Mary Gergick

Rose Mary Gergick, 53, passed away February 14th from complications due to an infection. She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Gergick, her mother Bernice Gergick, and service dog Denim. Survivors include her sister Cathy Gergick-Moreland, brothers Clay Gergick, Mike Gergick, and Paul Gergick, and honorary sister Wendy Gergick-Smith; four nieces Amy Moreland, Summer Myers, Shyanne Gergick, and Abby Gergick; two nephews, Jared Moreland and Sinjan Gergick; great niece and nephews Cassidi, Christien, and Chase Nobles; and beloved pets.
Rose Mary graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Education, and did substitute teaching for the Tonganoxie School District. She was the office manager/vet tech for Dr. Kyle LaRosh for over fifteen years. For the last twelve years she was a billing clerk for Drs. Green and Wallin oral surgery practice.
Rose Mary was known for her independent spirit, offbeat sense of humor, and love of travel. Despite suffering a disabling stroke at age 36, this independent spirit served her well. She was able to continue traveling and doing many of the things she enjoyed. She became involved with Kansas Specialty Dog Service, a nonprofit organization that provides service dogs to people with disabilities. Through KSDS she received her beloved service dog, Denim, a golden retriever with a heart of gold. They were constant companions. Also, through KSDS, she was to meet, befriend, and mentor others in similar life situations.
ARRANGEMENTS : There will be a Celebration of Her Life Memorial Dinner on Wednesday February 19th from 4:30 to 7:30 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1100 West Street in Tonganoxie, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kansas Specialty Dog Service (KSDS) or the Sacred Heart Church Building Fund.
