Mass of Christian Burial for Edward Wayne “Ed” Brown, 48, Lawrence will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October, 14, 2013 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. He died Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Baldwin City Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. Ed was born May 16, 1965 in Lawrence, KS the son of William F. “Kise” and Mary Evelyn (Ice) Brown.
He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Ed worked at Cottonwood, Inc. and participated in the R.E.A.C.H. Program. He was an avid Jayhawk fan and enjoyed his Pepsi. Ed touched many lives and didn’t know a stranger Survivors include one sister, Mary Frances Riner and husband, Michael, Lawrence; two brothers, Stanley G. Brown and wife, Felicia, and Richard W. Brown, both of Lawrence; two nieces, Sandy Wagner and husband, Mike, Alexis Riner; one great niece, Michaela Wagner; and his dogs Bo and Holly. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will greet friends after the Rosary at 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. The family suggests wearing Jayhawk attire to the visitation.
