Dorothy M. Collister 1912 - 2006 Lawrence
Services for Dorothy M. Collister, 94, Lawrence, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Plymouth Congregational Church. Inurnment will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery.Mrs. Collister died Thursday, June 22, 2006, at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community.She was born April 14, 1912, in New York, the daughter of Abram E. and Pauline Coles Munyer. She graduated from Albany State Teachers College in Albany, N.Y.She was a homemaker and previously worked as a teacher. She was a member of Kansas University's University Women's Club and Plymouth Congregational Church.She married E. Gordon Collister Sr. in 1935 in New York. He died Feb. 15, 1975.Survivors include two sons, Edward G. Collister Jr., Lawrence, and Richard L. Collister, St. Louis; a daughter, Christine A. Collister, Des Moines, Iowa; a sister, Marge Jones, Yorba Linda, Calif.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.The family suggests memorials to KU University Women's Club Scholarship Fund, sent in care of the mortuary.E-mail condolences may be sent to <a href='mailto:info@warrenmcelwain.com">info@warrenmcelwain.com</a>, subject: Collister.
