Free State girls soccer comes up short in 4-1 loss to Olathe South

Kate Odgers headed in a cross from Emma Yackley to pull the Free State girls soccer team level against Olathe South in the 50th minute, but it was all Falcons after that in a 4-1 win over the Firebirds on Thursday at the Olathe District Activity Center.

The Firebirds trailed, 1-0, at halftime before Odgers’ header tied it up. The Falcons struck back five minutes later for their first of three unanswered goals.

Free State (7-6-1) will play next against a to-be-determined Sunflower League opponent in its regular season finale on Tuesday.
