Cook guides Free State golf to 4th at SMNW Invitational; Brungardt leads LHS

The Free State boys golf team finished fourth at the Shawnee Mission Northwest Invitational on Monday at Lake Quivira Country Club.

Individually, Free State’s Will Cook placed seventh with a round of 77. Teammate Andrew Park carded a 10th-place round of 80. The Firebirds posted a team score of 335.

Lawrence High’s Ross Brungardt posted the best score for the Lions with a round of 85, which was good for 21st.

The Lions and Firebirds will return to action at 8 a.m. Wednesday at Sycamore Ridge Golf Course.
