FSHS softball beats Maize South

With more strong pitching from freshman Tatum Clopton, Free State’s softball team won its third game of the week with a 9-2 victory over Maize South on Saturday at FSHS.

Clopton allowed two hits and struck out 12, and the Firebirds’ offense did the rest. Freshman Sara Roszak scored two runs while junior Lauryn Jones, senior Grace Patchen and junior Taylor Burks had 2 RBIs apiece.

The Firebirds (3-0) will travel to Olathe South on Tuesday.
