Despite giving up a pair of runs in the top of the seventh inning, the Kansas softball team won its seventh straight game Thursday with a 4-3 victory over UMKC at Arrocha Ballpark.

Junior pitcher Andie Formby allowed just one run in six innings while freshman Shelby Gayre hit a solo home run in the sixth inning for a 4-1 lead. After a two-run triple in the top of the seventh inning, Brynn Minor struck out the only batter she faced.

The Jayhawks (17-3) will play Northern Iowa at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
