Holly Evans 8th, Bayn Schrader 12th at state bowling

For the third time in her high school career, Lawrence High senior Holly Evans was a medalist at the Class 6A state bowling tournament with an eighth-place finish Thursday at Wichita’s Northrock Lanes.

Evans, who was an individual qualifier for state, bowled a 536 three-game series, including games of 191 and 192. Evans placed fifth in 2016 and 16th last year. Free State senior Sapphie Knight, in her first appearance at state, finished in 61st with a 398 series.

In the boys state tournament, Free State junior Bayn Schrader took 12th with a 546 series. He bowled a 218 in his first game. Lawrence High senior Javier Lemmons placed 25th with a 507 series and LHS senior Ethan Huslig was 70th with a 406.
