Free State sharpshooter commits to University of Wisconsin-Green Bay
Free State’s Bansi King will continue playing basketball in college.
King plans to play at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, which was announced via Twitter Wednesday afternoon. According to ndnsports.com, King was the No. 11-ranked prospect at the Native Top 50 Combine last summer.

As a senior, King helped Free State reach the Class 6A state championship game before dropping a 51-40 decision to Blue Valley Northwest. King, a 6-foot-2 sharpshooter, also played a part in the Firebirds capturing their second straight Sunflower League crown.
Prior to transferring to Free State, King played with Bishop Seabury. He went to the state tournament in his junior season with the Seahawks, and they lost in the semifinals to St. John. The six-overtime thriller remains the longest game in Kansas state tournament history.
King’s cousin, Sandy Cohen III, was UWGB’s second-leading scorer last season with 16.1 points per game and will be a senior this coming season.
