KU women fall at Oklahoma, 97-64

One day after the men’s basketball team was defeated at the same venue, the KU women’s basketball team lost its sixth straight game on Wednesday, falling to Oklahoma in Norman, 97-64.

Brianna Osorio led the Jayhawks (11-9, 2-7 Big 12) in scoring, reaching double-figures for the fourth straight game. Osorio tabbed 17 points on 5-for-11 shooting, her highest output since a 28-point outburst in a loss to Texas Tech in Allen Fieldhouse.

Austin Richardson (13 points) was the only other Jayhawk to score in double figures. Sydney Benoit, who played 11 minutes, led the team with three assists, while Osorio, Kylee Kopatich (five points) and Tyler Johnson (four) each tied for the team lead with four rebounds.

Six different Sooners (10-10, 5-4) scored in double figures, led by Ana Llanusa, who tabbed 18 points and seven rebounds.

The Jayhawks will return to action Sunday against Kansas State. It will be the first of two home games for the team before it returns to the road to take on Oklahoma State in Stillwater.
