Gayre homers, KU softball tops Charleston

Freshman Shelby Gayre drilled a three-run, pinch-hit homer in the sixth inning and the Kansas softball team finished the weekend with a 6-1 victory over the College of Charleston on Sunday in Deland, Fla.

Kansas right fielder Mikayla Warren hit RBI singles in the second and sixth innings, while pitchers Sarah Miller and Brynn Minor allowed a combined five hits and one run in seven innings.

The Jayhawks (4-1) will play in the UTSA Tournament next weekend.
