The Friends of Oak Hill Cemetery is seeking volunteers for an Earth Day spring cleanup from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 22, at Oak Hill Cemetery. The effort will focus on cleaning up general areas around several historically significant monuments and on picking up large sticks and tree limbs throughout the cemetery.

Volunteers should gather at 1 p.m. at the cemetery’s front gate, 1605 Oak Hill Ave., for a brief overview of the workday. The city of Lawrence will be providing lawn waste bags and curbside pickup. Volunteers are reminded to wear sunscreen and work or garden gloves and bring water.
