FSHS girls 7th, boys 8th at Millard South Invite

Free State sophomore Charlie Johnson placed 25th at the Millard (Neb.) South Invitational on Friday, leading the FSHS boys cross country team to eighth in the team standings at Walnut Grove Park.

Johnson led the Firebirds with a time of 17:37.20. Senior Avant Edwards followed in 41st place in 18:10.90, while Caelen Cordes was 44th in 18:15.20.

Free State’s girls cross country team placed seventh, led by junior Julia Larkin, who took 28th in 21:03.80. Sophomores Erin Fagan and Emily Stone placed 38th and 42nd, respectively. Fagan finished in 21:42.10 and Stone’s time was 21:54.20.
