Baker University freshman running back JD Woods was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference offensive player of the week, announced Monday.

Woods, the all-time leading rusher at Lawrence High, ran for 200 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries, helping the Wildcats to a 48-41 victory Saturday. He added six catches for 28 yards.

Baker’s kicker Clarence Clark, who made two field goals and six extra points, received HAAC special teams player of the week honors.

The No. 2 ranked Wildcats will travel to Culver-Stockton at 11 a.m. Saturday.
