Seabury girls cross country takes 1st at Hayden

Bishop Seabury sophomore Sami Dennon set a new school record and led the girls cross country team to a team title at the Topeka Hayden Invitational on Saturday.

Dennon finished runner-up in the girls race in 22:41, breaking the school’s 5k record by five seconds. She was joined in the top-10 by sophomore Sabrina Eicher (fourth, 24:36) and freshman Morgan Orozco (ninth, 26:13).

Seabury sophomore Henry Nelson won the boys race in 17:11, leading the Seahawks to third in the team standings. Sophomore Gus Greenhoot followed in 15th in 21:12 and junior Seth Thompson-Glodich was 17th in 21:18.
