LHS, FS combine for 3 medalists at SMS gymnastics

Free State freshman gymnast Talia Gay posted the top score on the uneven bars and placed third in the all-around at the Shawnee Mission South All-Around Invitational on Tuesday.

Gay scored an 8.85 to lead all competitors on the bars, while medaling in the floor exercise (fourth, 8.9) and balance beam (fifth, 8.7).

Lawrence High junior Josie Hickerson was fourth all-around and Eden Kingery followed in fifth. Hickerson was third on the bars (8.3) and floor (9.2), while Kingery was sixth on the vault (8.8).
