Lawrence High freshman Marian Frick and Free State junior Claire Campbell swam to the top time in the Class 6A state swimming prelims Friday at Capitol Federal Natatorium in Topeka.

Frick was first in the 100 breaststroke in 1:06.10, while Campbell owned the fastest time in the 200 freestyle with a 1:51.79. Campbell took second in the 100 freestyle and helped the FSHS 200 freestyle relay to second alongside Gracie Caldwell, Charlotte Crandall and Piper Rogers.

Lawrence’s 200 medley relay — Frick, Maddie Dean, Emily Guo and Megan Drumm — placed first in 1:50.78.

The state finals will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
