Former FSHS swimmer Caldwell earns All-America honor

North Carolina State sophomore swimmer Courtney Caldwell, a former Free State High standout, took 13th in the 100 freestyle at the NCAA Championships Saturday in Indianapolis.

Caldwell, who swam the second-fastest time in program history during the morning session (47.75), earned her first individual All-America honorable mention for placing in the top-16 in the nation.

She tied for 20th in the 50 freestyle and helped her team to fourth in the 200 freestyle relay.
