Baker women fall to Campbellsville in second round of NAIA tournament

? Baker sophomore Anna Hignight tied her season-high with 18 points, but it was not enough in the Wildcats’ 73-56 loss to Campbellsville (Ky.) on Friday in the second round of the NAIA Div. I tournament.

The second-seeded Wildcats (30-5) trailed by three points at halftime, but the third-seeded Tigers out-scored Baker, 37-23, after the break.

Hignight drained four of her eight attempts from behind the arc, but the rest of the Wildcats combined to shoot 3-for-17 from 3-point range. Senior Sydney Buchel joined Hignight in double figures with 13 points.

Campbellsville’s Emily Fox led all scorers with 19 points. Fox knocked down five 3-pointers to lead the Tigers, who improved to 27-6 on the season. Campbellsville shot 50 percent (7-for-14) from long distance.
