Lawrence native Michael Andrew, an 18 year old swimmer, took fourth place in the men’s 50-meter butterfly at the U.S. National Championships and World Trials on Wednesday in Indianapolis.

Andrew finished in 23.42 seconds, only 0.37 behind champion Caeleb Dressel, an Olympic gold medalist.

Courtney Caldwell, a Free State High graduate, placed 23rd in the women’s 50-meter butterfly prelims in 27.37 seconds.
