Kent State football not going with a KU assistant

Kansas assistant head coach and defensive coordinator Clint Bowen instructs players at a KU football practice that was part of fan appreciation activities Saturday August 8, 2015.

The Kansas football coaching staff won’t be losing any of its members to Kent State.

According to The Post-Standard, in Syracuse, N.Y., and other media outlets, Kent State will hire Syracuse co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Sean Lewis as its next head coach.

KU defensive coordinator Clint Bowen, as well as quarterbacks coach Garrett Riley had been linked with the Kent State opening during the search.
