Letter to the editor: Try a new play

To the editor:

One way that KU football could become a winner is to take a page from the former Lawrence High School coach Al Woodard’s success story.

Back in 1968, I asked another high school football coach why Lawrence High School had been so successful year in and year out. He said that “we” (I’m an LHS alumnus) used an offense that no one else used. Because no one saw it very often it was very effective against teams.

The Air Raid offense is an extremely popular offense. So maybe we need to do something else. After all, we want to win football games, not act as a minor league team for the NFL.
