Lawrence native Ashton Lambie earned a gold medal in the individual pursuit of the USA Cycling Nationals last week in Carson, Calif.

Lambie, who works at Sunflower Outdoor & Bike Shop, won the men’s elite division of the pursuit with a time of 4:29.06, more than three seconds ahead of runner-up Mac Cassin, from Boulder, Colo.

Two days later in the men’s finals of the points race, Lambie picked up a silver medal with 379.45 points, about 10 points behind Cassin, the gold medalist.
