Overland Park ? After trailing by a goal at halftime, Free State High’s boys soccer team was routed by Shawnee Mission South in its regular-season finale, 8-1, at SM South Stadium.

FSHS junior Charlie Newsome scored the team’s lone goal in the second half.

The Firebirds (7-7-2) will learn of their regional schedule Saturday.
