Country’s Jennifer Nettles to take Lied Center stage April 10

Jennifer Nettles will perform at 7 p.m. April 10 at the Lied Center.

Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Jennifer Nettles will make a stop in Lawrence this spring as part of the “CMT Presents Jennifer Nettles with 2016 Next Women of Country Tour.”

The show is slated for 7 p.m. April 10 at the Lied Center, 1600 Stewart Drive. Nettles, known for her roles as lead vocalist in the country trio Sugarland and most recently as Dolly Parton’s mother in the NBC biopic “Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors,” will be joined April 10 by Brandy Clark and guest artists Lindsay Ell and Tara Thompson.

The “Next Women of Country” tour is an extension of CMT’s campaign of the same name, an effort that seeks to give more attention and airplay to female country artists. Tickets range from $59.50 to $79.50, and can be purchased at www.lied.ku.edu, 864-2787 or in person at the Lied Center box office.
