University of Kansas expects heavy traffic Thursday as students move in

The University of Kansas is expecting heavy traffic Thursday as students move into their residence halls, KU said in a news release.

The traffic is expected to be the most congested around 15th and Iowa streets, the release said. Other intersections expecting high numbers are as follows:

• Bob Billings Parkway and Crestline Drive.

• 19th and Iowa streets.

• 15th Street and Engel Road.

• 19th Street and Naismith Drive.

• Schwegler Road and Naismith Drive.

• 11th and Louisiana streets.

The traffic around Daisy Hill will likely be the heaviest between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m., the release said.

University employees who work on the school’s west campus should be able to park in their normal spaces, the release said. Though Becker Road will be open only from Crestline to Constant Avenue.
