Lawrence received nearly a half-inch of rain from midnight Friday to midnight Saturday, according to the National Weather Service in Topeka.

Late Friday, the NWS was forecasting occasional rain overnight and into the early morning, with a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms before 1 p.m. Saturday.

The NWS predicts a 20 percent chance of rain between Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon.

So far this month, as of 5 p.m. Friday, Lawrence had received 3.46 inches of rain. The normal April average rainfall amount is 3.59 inches, according to the NWS.

The NWS predicts sunny days next week with highs in the 70s and overnight lows in the high 40s and low 50s.
