Police investigating armed robbery in northern Lawrence, seeking 2 suspects

Lawrence Police are investigating an armed robbery in northern Lawrence Wednesday.

Officers were dispatched to a home in the Pine Hills Mobile Home Park, at 101 North Michigan St., just before 2 a.m. Wednesday after two men allegedly stole cash and two cellphones, Lawrence police spokeswoman Kim Murphree said.

Two residents of the home and four visitors were there when the incident occurred, Murphree said. No one was injured.

Police are looking for two suspects in connection with the incident. Both are black males who were wearing dark clothing; at least one of them had a bandanna covering part of his face. The man wearing the bandanna was also reportedly armed with a small-caliber revolver.

The suspect who was allegedly carrying the gun was described as being about 6 feet 1 inch tall, with a mustache. The second suspect was described as being about 5 feet 4 inches tall, 140-150 pounds, with facial hair.

Both men were reportedly last seen running north through the trailer park.

Police are investigating the possibility that the men may have had a car, with at least two people inside, waiting for them nearby. After the suspects fled, three of the four visitors to the home got into a car and left the area, as well, Murphree said.

The investigation remains ongoing.
