The Lawrence Pedestrian Coalition has arranged a meeting with city staff to learn more about construction options for Kasold Drive.

The public informational meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and run to 8 p.m. It will be in the City Commission meeting room at City Hall, 6 E. Sixth St.

City engineer Dave Cronin will present proposals for how the street should be redone. City engineers have recommended a “road diet” on Kasold Drive between Eight and 14th streets to make the section more pedestrian and bicycle friendly.

Construction on the street is slated to begin next year.
