Seabury volleyball edges Pembroke

Seabury Academy rebounded from a close first-set loss to defeat Pembroke Hill, 24-26, 25-21, 25-23, 25-23, in high school volleyball Thursday night at Seabury.

Leading the way for the Seahawks were Taylor Hodge with 24 digs, 12 kills and four aces, Ellen Almanza with 18 digs, 16 kills and three aces, Lindsey Hornberger with 13 digs, 11 kills, three aces and two blocks, Regan Zaremba with 36 assists and eight digs, Celia Taylor-Puckett with 13 digs and one kill, and Vivian Aubel with four digs and four kills.

“Pembroke had a pretty tall front row and blocked and hit well,” Seabury coach Chrissy Leuty said. “We adjusted by quickening up our offense, which seemed to help. Those last two sets were a grinder, and every single player on the team stepped up when we needed them to.”

The Seahawks (14-4) will play Saturday at the Olpe tournament.
