Organizers of Friday evening’s Kansas University homecoming parade say the parade will continue despite rainy weather in the area, but a post-parade pep rally has been canceled.

The downtown parade is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at South Park before moving north on Massachusetts Street. The pep rally following the parade on Eighth Street between Massachusetts and New Hampshire streets has been canceled.

The National Weather Service in Topeka predicted an 80 percent chance of rain Friday with a 100 percent chance of showers Friday night.

Thanks for your patience. Parade will go on AS SCHEDULED at 6pm. There will be no Pep Rally after. Bring your rain jackets!
